Rugby World Cup 2015 Gloucester

2015 is a big year for Gloucestershire as the city of Gloucester will be hosting the Rugby World Cup. I was asked to do a publicity shot of the main man charged with arranging it, former Gloucester rugby captain, Adam Balding.  Adam is Gloucester's co-ordinator for all the preparations, so as you can imagine a very busy man indeed. Luckily he spared me the time and helped carry my kit to the top of Gloucester Cathedral for this shot.

Hartpury College Brochure

I had a smashing day at Hartpury College near Gloucester the other day. They wanted some pictures of their activities that could be used in a brochure, website and other promotional stuff. I started off photographing one of their former students who is now a Forestry Commission warden in the Forest of Dean. It was pouring with rain and we were getting eaten alive by midges so I didn't hang around, I quickly popped up a light stand and got a few shots that I'm really pleased with. The rain meant that the light was very soft and with a little bit of off camera flash the colours become saturated as well as the photographer. Conditions were a lot easier at the college and I got to spend a pleasant couple of hours meeting photographing the students with a whole host of animals.

Sophie, Countess of Wessex

I had the great pleasure to photograph Sophie Wessex yesterday when she was visiting Meningitis Now headquarters in Stroud, Gloucestershire. Her husband Prince Edward was there too, but Sophie was the star of the show. She has been patron of the charity for 10 years and I could tell she was deeply moved by the plight of some of the parents she met whilst touring the building. I'm a big fan of the Royal family and over the years I've been lucky enough to photograph most of them. Sophie reminded me a lot of Princess Diana who I photographed a lot in the late 80's and early 90's.
