We recently had the absolute privilege of going behind the scenes with Smiths News to document what can only be described as a nightly miracle. While the rest of the nation sleeps, their dedicated teams orchestrate a massive, high-speed logistics operation to ensure newspapers and magazines are distributed to shops across the country before dawn. Our photography assignment took us on an overnight journey across three major hubs: Hemel Hempstead, Birmingham, and Nottingham.
The Heartbeat of the Operation
Stepping into the distribution centres, the energy is instantly infectious. The sheer volume of print media moving through these hubs is staggering. We wanted our images to capture the focus, speed, and genuine camaraderie of the teams working through the night.
