BBC Countryfile Presenter Adam Henson opens Bishops Cleeve Anaerobic Digester
As a PR Photographer in Gloucestershire I get to meet lots of people and quite a few TV personalities. But it's always a special pleasure to work with BBC Countryfile's Adam Henson, I've worked with him on jobs for one of my regular clients Countrywide .
Yesterday he was opening a new anaerobic digester near Cheltenham for local company Andigestion Ltd, I also got to meet Norman Grundon who is the chap who owns all the Grundon lorries that we see up and down the country.

The Tower of London with Princess Anne and Jane Garvey.
Recently I was summoned to The Tower of London to shoot Princess Anne. HRH The Princess Royal was the guest of honour at a reception hosted by UK hearing loss charity Hearing Link. I've photographed the Princess many times as she is the patron of loads of charities that have commissioned me to photograph events and of course it's always a great pleasure. But as a Radio 4 junkie I was most excited to meet BBC Radio Four's Woman's Hour presenter Jane Garvey, I could have listened to her voice all day and I'm sure I came across a bit starstruck. Meeting radio personalities is always a bit exciting, I think it's because their voices are always in your house, car, garage etc so they feel more familiar than TV and film actors.
Meerkats make themselves at home on my foot.
Meerkats gave a Nailsworth photographer the runaround on an unusual shoot this morning.
The endearing creatures at Hartpury College's animal collection popped up all over the place - and sometimes in front of the camera for Clint Randall of Pixel PR Photography.
He had plenty of chances to compare meerkats, as they switched places and even perched on him as he went about his work.

Hartpury College Prospectus
I've just seen the Hartpury College prospectus that I worked on last year. These are just a few pages that I photographed on my iPhone this morning, I'm so pleased that they have used them so well. I've heard that the prospectus has been very well received and has resulted in an increase in student enrollment for courses featured.
Photographing the UK’s largest rooftop solar panel array
The clients looking happy despite their soaking moments earlier.
Last week I went to Castle Donnington near East Midland's Airport to photograph the UK's biggest roof-mounted solar panel array on the roof of Marks and Spencer distribution centre.
Here I am looking a bit wet and wind swept.
More than 24,000 panels spread across the building's roof - which is the same size as 11 football pitches. Anyway it sounded like a straight forward job. So I set off with reflectors and light weight studio lights, my plan was to get the sun on the clients back and fill in with studio flash to get either a dramatic stormy sky or travel brochure blue one. A nice man from M&S led the way up an internal ladder toward the roof, when he opened the hatch water cascaded onto us, I felt like I was getting out of a submarine. It was absolutely chucking it down, windy and cold.
You can't be a professional photographer in the UK for 25 years without learning how to deal with our climate. So we went for a cuppa, and as soon as it eased we did a 5 minute shoot and dashed back in for cover. The point of my tale is that when things don't go to plan it's good to have an experienced safe pair of hands to save the day. With a little bit of photoshop I got the sky looking respectable and every one was happy.
Sods Law, it was gorgeous as soon as I had said my goodbyes.
Corporate event? Don't forget the pictures.
I cover a lot of corporate events for my clients and I'm always told how well received the photos are. They are used on social media and shared with the guests who in turn use them in a similar way, so every one is a winner. One of my oldest clients, BPE Solicitors in Cheltenham booked me for a great Drivers Day at Prescott Hill Climb. As always I delivered the pictures on a password protected page on my website from where BPE and their guests could download the pictures, I'm told that all the guests were thrilled with the pictures.
Perfect studio space
I'm very spoilt this morning with this wonderful city office block floor all to myself for corporate portraits.
Airline Pilot practice used to help doctors and nurses
Junior staff within the airline industry are encouraged to speak up to more senior staff, including the captain, if they believe they have made a mistake.
I photographed Critical Care staff at Gloucesters Royal Hospital who are using similar practices with their simulator training to help train their medical staff.
It is hoped the training will mean doctors and nurses do not fear speaking up against those in authority.
School Prospectus Photography
When I work at a school I am very careful to not disrupt the lessons, I've found that it works best to take candid pictures and catch the atmosphere of your school.
Making business portraits fun
One of the nice things about being very experienced in your job is that you're relaxed and not stressed. I've been a photographer for over 25 years now so when I am photographing somebody I am completely at ease and this makes my subject feel at ease too. This is an important part of my skill set that has just crept up on me over the years and now I'm often told that it's a real selling point, especially in the world of corporate photography where my client hasn't got an hour to get to know me.

Make a statement without saying a word.
New video venture for me.
For some time I have been toying with the idea of making short films about my clients. I tried my first one yesterday at my friends hardware shop in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire. Sam and Jamie are very pleased with it so I'm keen to get opinions from others. Is this something that small businesses would be interested in buying and if so what sort of price would you expect to pay?
Product Photography
Tricky job? No problem.
Sometimes my job can be quite difficult, here's a good example. I was working at General Electric Aviation last week and because of the nature of their business, almost everything was classified and of course couldn't be photographed. But luckily I've been doing this long enough to not give up and leave with just a mugshot. I spotted this glass display in the reception area and with a few off camera flashes I managed to make it look interesting and high tech, just what the client was looking for.
