I'm a petrol head so I was very excited when Gloucestershire University asked me to photograph one of their students who has been on a work placement in the Press and PR department of the Morgan Motor Company. James gave me a brilliant tour around the factory where I saw these lovely little British sports cars being born.

Cotswold Life Business Pages

It's good to see one of my pictures being used in Cotswold Life this month. My client BPE Solicitors in Cheltenham have a load of solar panels on their roof and Jon and Tim braved icy temperatures to pose for this picture. I had to add a touch of yellow in photoshop to warm it up as they looked blue.

Ed Vaizey MP launches Superfast Broadband in the Cotswolds

I had a ridiculously early start today photographing Ed Vaizey, Minister for Culture, in Lechlade where he was switching on BT's superfast broadband for the town. I had an interesting chat with Bill Murphy who is BT's MD for Next Generation Access, he was telling me that the UK is now well ahead of the rest of Europe with broadband speed. Today marks the single biggest day so far for Britain’s superfast rural broadband rollout.

2013 Christmas Drink Driving Campaign

I was delighted to be asked by Gloucestershire County Council to help them out with some pictures to promote the launch of their Christmas Drink Driving Campaign. The campaign, Eat, Think, Be Merry, kicks off as an average of three drivers a day continue to be caught under the influence of alcohol while driving in the county

Master Chef and former England Rugby Captain uses a Gloucestershire oven.

Phil Vickery, the former England rugby captain, who replicated his prowess on the pitch in the kitchen by winning celebrity MasterChef title, is now cooking at home with one of my clients cookers. The lovely, friendly, Gloucestershire folk at Everhot make homely handbuilt oven ranges right here in the shire.

It was nice to witness some top notch engineering in full swing in Gloucestershire. My client Everhot is a local company based in Coaley near Dursley where they hand build these terrific looking ovens. I can't cook but I'm assured they make smashing pies in the hands of someone who knows how to drive a cooker.

Showcase Awards

It was a pleasure to work with BBC Apprentice winner Michelle Dewberry again at Gloucestershire County Council's Grow Gloucestershire Showcase Awards at Cheltenham Race Course. The awards recognise talented young people who have contributed to businesses through work experience, apprenticeships or internships.

	BBC Reporter, Steve Knibbs co hosted the event and was brilliant, I have worked with Steve many times when I was working on the Western Daily Press and I knew he likes to chat, but I had no idea he had such a talent for public speaking.

One of my clients, Cam Systems, had the great idea to send their Customer Liaison Officer, Alfie Hughes to Chris Mullins Tyres, Gloucester to work there for a day to better understand the work they do. This made a nice set of pictures that were published in the trade press.

Hospital Art

As an Arts Council contractor I get to photograph some nice art, but this little job at the Bath RUH was special. Some of the kids in this art class were pretty poorly and to watch them enjoy an art lesson was touching.

I had some fun working with the folk at The Warranty Group recently. Formerly known as Aon Warranty Group, it is the world's largest single-source provider of extended warranty solutions. They were a great bunch to work with and they were extremely happy with the corporate brochure, happy days.

Gloucester Apprentices

Apprenticeships are booming. More than 60,000 people have applied for construction apprenticeships over the past 12 months, an increase of more than 10,000 on last year. So I was asked to photograph some of the apprentices at Gloucester College.

Blooming Zara

I had a lovely job today photographing the Queens grand daughter and mum to be, Zara Phillips visiting Stroud Maternity Hospital. The hospital has recently been refurbished and the NHS asked me to get some nice pictures to remember the visit. Zara was lovely as always, she's the most down to earth member of the Royal family that I have photographed.

Business booming for Gloucestershire man who sent out 600 CVs

John Powell and his wife Hannah from Huntley, Gloucestershire who set up their own valeting business with help from mentor Grant Cozens from Gloucestershire Enterprise .

AFTER sending out 600 CVs to potential employers without success, jobless John Powell refused to give up.
He decided to sell the family car and held numerous car boot sales to raise the money he needed to launch his own business.

And now John's successful mobile car valeting service Mirror Finish has become a shining example how determination can pay off.

The pothole killer.

 Gloucestershire Highways booked me to photograph their new weapon against potholes. They are on the way to filling in an additional 22,000 potholes by the end of this year, thanks to six extra ‘find and fix’ gangs and the use of a ‘JetPatcher’. The JetPatcher machine blasts out hot road material at high speed to deliver a suitable repair in double quick time.

Phil Vickery MBE

I had the pleasure of photographing Phil Vickery when he visited one of my clients showroom . We spent some time discussing his mashed up ears, apparently when a rugby player has them operated on to look better, they don't work as well. The body adapts to interpret sound with the damaged shape and struggles to adapt if the shape is suddenly changed, so Phil is sticking with his. I wish I did a close up pic now, but he would have thought that was a bit weird.
